Prototyping Phase 3A

Phase 4A:

Alpha Prototyping

Once the rendering process is complete, the next step is prototyping. Our prototyping services are divided into three stages. The first is the Alpha, an engineering grade Stereo Lithographic Apparatus (SLA) rapid prototype model. These models are great for fit testing, functional testing, and overall form evaluation. The models do not have any surface finish or painting and the material is in its natural state.

Phase 4B:

Beta Prototyping

In the second stage we produce a beta prototype. A beta prototype is composed of Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) machines and Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene/Polycarbonate (ABS/PC) plastic parts. The surfaces are finished to reflect production materials/paints, with logo and any color. A beta prototype looks the part but, depending on the complexity of the project, may not be functional.

Phase 4C:

Final Prototyping

The final prototype is CNC machined and composed of ABS/PC plastic parts. The surfaces are finished to reflect production materials/paints, with logo and any color. The addition of electronics creates a fully functional prototype. The three stages may seem excessive but each iteration reduces the risk of a problematic final prototype. Once the final prototype is approved, the final phase begins: Manufacturing. Need a big prototype or a one-off fabrication? Visit our custom fabrication page.
